Name: Suzanne Gott,  Country/City: Auckland, New Zealand. Posted: 12/27/2013 11:07:59 PM

Message: Hi, what an amazing amount of work! I'm interested to know if their is a connection. My great, great grandfather, Benjamin Gott and his brother Joseph Gott settled in NZ.I know that they came from the Rawdon area. And, their parents were Hannah and Joseph Gott. (sorry I am on holiday and don't have the dates with me). Thanks, and happy New Year!

Name: John Bean,  Country/City: Leeds, Yorkshire,England Posted: 2/28/2013 2:13:37 PM

Message: I have been researching my ancestry for a few years now and my gt,gt grandfather William Bean worked for the Gott family as a farmer from around 1830 to 1855, he and his family lived in and leased various properties around the estate at Armley, from Redcote, Armley ridge road and Wyther lodge to the toll houses on the Gott's (Burley) bridge. William is buried in the St Barts churchyard and I would assume used to attend the church original chapel and then the main church over his time within employ of the family. The two toll buildings were known to me as a child, as the Bean families remained in the locallity. It's also a coincidence that one of Benjamin's finest achievements, the' Bean Ings mill', contained our family name, although I'm not aware of any connection.

Message: Hi there, I am doing some research into my late mother's family relatives.one of these was Edwin Edwin Iddo Ellery, who was one of 3 artists who painted a portrait of John Gott (the 3rd bishop of Truro). I know this portrait is currently held at the national portrait gallery. Would you have any available copies of this painting by my great grandfather or indeed any information that might be relevant. Many thanks Peter

Name: Bill Fowler,  Country/City: Brompton Kent Posted: 2/9/2012 2:37:10 PM

Message: This area is on the UK Gov listing for World Heritage Site by the UN. Brompton is the urban centre of the proposed WHS. We are currently researching notable people for potential Blue Plaques. Sir Frederick Clifford (formally Catt) is one of then. Any info appreciated. I think the reason the name changed form Catt to Clifford may have something to do with the Catt's being prominent Butchers in Brompton hence the embarrassment over the name!
