LUKE and the inscription " FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SPECIAL CONSTABULARY. for years i have been trying to find any reference to him but with no results. Message: I have heard that you are a descendant of Mabel Luke who set up a charity in Newbury in 1928 consisting of alnshouses which are in danger of being demolished and we as beneficiaries of the charity do not want that to happen. Do you have any information about Mabel's intent or wishes for the charity, like a will or constitution? Thank you

Message: Hello Julie, I am the G-Granddaughter of Ezra Joseph Patmore, elder brother of your Jabez Patmore who married Mary Ann Feltham. I have been collecting archived newspaper articles on all the family, and can send those which relate to Jabez & Mary Ann if you would be interested. A few sad things: for one, their grandchild, Stella Patmore, died at age 10 during the outbreak of Bubonic Plague in Sydney in 1900. Beverley
